Workload evidence
Peak throughput alone is not enough for sizing. The review should capture payload size, burst shape, read and write ratio, processing cost, latency distribution and the recovery behavior expected after an interruption.
Representative traces or generated workloads should validate the assumptions. Capacity decisions can then include headroom and a repeatable test rather than relying on a single target entered into a slider.
- Measure burst duration and concurrency, not only averages.
- Define latency at a specific boundary and percentile.
- Include replay, reindexing and recovery load in tests.
